TONIPark Augsburg wins second prize in German competition facade greenery of the year 2022!

Last week, the winners of the facade greenery of the year 2022 competition were announced. This prize is awarded annually by the BuGG (Bundesverband GebäudeGrün). TONIPark in Augsburg, Germany, won the second prize in this competition! A great recognition for this green parking garage. The jury made its choice on the basis of the best greening concepts and the available building greening possibilities. Other nominated projects with SemperGreenwalls were Eden Tower in Frankfurt and WIR Quartier in Erfurt.

What makes this project special is that with 700 sqm of planting on 3 sides of the car park, it absorbs 1600 kg of CO2 per year. The project also received the “Gold” certificate according to the guidelines of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council). Winning the award further underlines how this project contributes to a more sustainable world. Very strict fire safety requirements were also met in this project. By using the specially developed Flexipanel with fire safety class A2, a SemperGreenwall can also be used in this type of project.
